Process most currently now a days is still:
- Drawing (body maker) and trimming
- Outer protection (cleaning + wash coat)
- Flanging + beading
- Seaming* inside lacquering
- Inside Bake Oven
The requirements for GTI food cans are a high speed process, low earing, no split flange, good surface properties (appearance and lacquer ability) and good mechanical properties of the cans (axial and radial load).
GTIPL provides prime quality tin plates sourced from TATA and JSW, known for their precise thickness and tight tolerances, ensuring excellent inclusion cleanliness and baking hardenability. We use 0.19 mm prime quality tin plates to manufacture high-quality cans. Our typical tinplate sizes range in thickness from 0.13 mm to 0.26 mm and have a width of around 1200 mm, extending up to 1230 mm, with temper grades TS275, T57, or ASTM T3. The tin coating on these plates is generally unmelted, maintaining superior quality throughout the production process.
